The Theodore Roosevelt Silver Medal, issued by the United States Mint in 2025, honors the 26th President’s enduring legacy. This medal is struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver with a matte finish and measures 40.6 mm (1.598 inches) in diameter—the same as an American Eagle silver dollar. It is part of the US Mint’s ongoing Presidential Silver Medal series, celebrating America’s leaders with historically inspired designs.
The obverse, originally crafted by famed Mint engraver Charles E. Barber, features a left-facing portrait of Roosevelt with his name inscribed on either side. The reverse, designed by George T. Morgan, depicts Columbia standing beside a column, with the US Capitol in the background, and inscriptions marking Roosevelt’s inauguration and second term. This blend of artistry from two of the Mint’s greatest engravers brings together patriotic symbolism, presidential honor, and early 20th-century style.
Unlike circulating coins, the Roosevelt medal has a plain edge and does not bear a denomination or Mint mark, though it is being produced at the San Francisco Mint for this release. The 2025 issue is priced at $90 and comes in original government packaging with a certificate of authenticity. There are no mintage or order limits, making it broadly accessible to collectors and students of American history.
Previous Roosevelt silver medals were only available as part of special sets, such as the 2013 Coin & Chronicles Set, but the current issue is offered individually. It joins a lineup of Presidential medals that includes leaders from George Washington to William McKinley, all offered in silver and bronze versions as part of a long-standing US Mint tradition.
The Theodore Roosevelt Silver Medal is a fitting tribute to one of America’s most influential presidents—making it a standout addition to any coin or medal collection and a testament to both American history and the tradition of medallic art.
