The 2025 National Money Show featured an exciting mix of family fun, rare exhibits, and exclusive numismatic opportunities, making it a must-attend event for collectors, dealers, and history enthusiasts alike. Hosted by the American Numismatic Association (ANA), the show welcomed over 3,200 attendees to the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, February 27 through March 1.

“Collectors, dealers, and families all gathered for a successful show this year,” said ANA Executive Director Kim Kiick. “Seeing thousands of attendees engage with numismatics in such an exciting way reaffirms the importance of our hobby and its impact.”

ANA President Thomas J. Uram welcomed the crowd during the show’s Opening Ceremonies and presented National Money Show Host Chair Tom Youngblood with the ANA Goodfellow Award in recognition of the many hours devoted to assisting ANA staff with putting the convention together. He also bestowed a Presidential Award on Donna Moon. The Louis S. Werner Host Club Award, given annually to the event’s host clubs, was presented to the Georgia Numismatic Association and the Metropolitan Coin Club of Atlanta.

A limited-edition challenge coin, produced by Thomas Uram, also was distributed for free to attendees around noon each day. Slabbed with a special label from Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC), the challenge coins serve as a key during a National Coin Week challenge. Those who can guess the engraver initials listed on the coin will be entered to win a prize.

The 2025 National Money Show featured 443 dealers at over 200 booths buying and selling coins, paper currency, and related items; a wide range of educational presentations led by notable speakers; an arcade-style destination for K-12 collectors; an exhibit of priceless rarities from private collections and the ANA’s Edward C. Rochette Money Museum; and so much more.

Museum Showcase & Collector Exhibits

The Museum Showcase featured a bevy of rarities, including an 1804 silver dollar; a pristine 1933 eagle (gold $10); a 1913 Liberty Head Nickel, made under mysterious circumstances; select Bank of the United States obsolete notes, donated by John and Nancy Wilson; medals of the Renaissance; a spectacular collection of coins that facilitated trade on the Silk Road; and more.

Collector Exhibits engaged participants with more than 15 stunning displays (visit money.org/nationalmoneyshow-exhibit-descriptions to see the full exhibit list). Jeffrey Rosinia won People’s Choice for “A Numismatic Taste of Collecting Coca-Cola,” and Michael Shutterly won Best of Show for “It’s Elementary!” The ANA recognized the top educational displays on Saturday afternoon with an exhibit awards presentation and reception.

Educational Talks

Collectors took advantage of the many available educational opportunities, including technical seminars on U.S. coin grading and counterfeit detection. The always popular Money Talks presentations from 16 numismatic experts covered various topics. Among the topics explored were the history of the Mercury Dime, error coins, elongate coins, dealer stories, and more.

Young Collector Activities

Ernie’s Treasure Treehouse (formerly the “ANA Kids Zone”) was a popular destination with families and kids.

Designed for collectors in grades K-12, Ernie’s Treasure Treehouse offered arcade-style activities such as coin-collecting “Plinko” and the opportunity to design a commemorative coin. Participants earned “Hoot Loot,” comparable to tickets won at an arcade, that could be redeemed for coin-related prizes.

“During peak hours, attendees had to wait in line just to get in. It was exciting to see more than 100 young collectors having so much fun learning about coins,” noted ANA Education Director Christian Strayhorn.

Treasure Trivia was a big hit with families, with 85 collectors participating to learn about numismatics and earn prizes as they explored the show floor, searching for answers to trivia questions. A Young Collectors Corner taught by ANA Numismatic Educator Steven Roach offered basic information about the hobby to young enthusiasts.
